Branding Portraits with Lauryn • 05.17.22

Lauryn recently started her own freelance business, Seven Seventeen Copywriting, where she helps others with branding and marketing of their own businesses, and she was in need of some photos for her personal website. When she reached out to me, I jumped at the chance to capture this queen in her natural element.

During our session in Baton Rouge, we laughed, we danced, and we cartwheeled together, all the while snagging some really fantastic photos. Lauryn is a true light in her friends’ lives. I can attest to this because I have been lucky enough to call her my friend for a while now, sharing many an adventure together. I knew I wanted to showcase her light and to ensure it was visibly present in the images I took of her. I think between her gorgeous smile and that amazing sunlight, we managed to showcase just that.

We had so much fun during our mid-May session that we hardly took notice of the humid heat that accompanies most months here in Louisiana. Because Lauryn is such a nature queen and can often be found outside connecting with the world around her, we thought it appropriate to find a nice wooded area with ample trees. Thanks to my parents, we found the perfect location right in the back of their neighborhood. It was a nice and quiet area without too much foot-traffic, so we were able to take advantage of every inch of space without inconvenience. It was all around an awesome time with an awesome person! I hope to have more opportunities to photograph Lauryn in the future. I am super excited to watch her business grow.
